Dark chocolate and clove are wrapped around concentrated blackberries and wild raspberry jam in the nose. The same depth of pure blackberry and raspberry jam fills your mouth with hints of roasted cocoa, espresso and fennel. Full and concentrated in the mouth, the finish is thick, luxuriant and maturely tannic. 16.3% alcohol
Challenging weather during the 2003 growing season resulted in lighter than normal berry development. However lower yields, coupled with moderate temperatures, allowed for even ripening with good sugar, pH and acidity. Although Mother Nature provided us with a less than bountiful harvest, we are very pleased with the resulting wines. The grapes for this wine were harvested at an average of 25.4 Brix in late October.
