Joe Ramirez joined Williams Selyem as Cellar Master just in time for the 2018 harvest. Ramirez started his wine career in 1989 with Simi winery in Healdsburg where he was hired to do landscaping. He quickly realized he was much more drawn to the activities and aromas coming from the winery production areas. Without giving it a second thought, he applied and was hired for a harvest internship in the cellar. Joe was amazed by the entire wine making process and decided to devote his future to wine production. He continued to hone his cellar skills between Sonoma County and Napa County wineries which included his longest tenure of 18 years as Cellar Master for Silver Oak and Twomey Cellars in Napa. On most Saturdays, Joe can be found at local farmers markets with his wife Federica searching for seasonal offerings to cook with, and most importantly something pair with a bottle of Williams Selyem Pinot Noir.
