As a lifelong, Sonoma County resident, roots run deep in Chuck’s experience as a child visiting historic wineries when his parents’ friends or family would visit. The smell of wine fermenting in a cellar was planted early and no matter what winery he visits or works within, that smell transports his memories to his childhood.

Chuck’s background started in small commercial construction projects while attending Sonoma State University and upon graduating with his B.A. he advanced to superintendent and project management roles. Over the past two decades, Chuck’s experience overseeing 10+ winery projects for Kendall Jackson, Coppola, Venge, Kosta Browne, Wente, and Trinite Estate has refined his focus on the needs of the wine industry.

Chuck first joined Williams Selyem in early 2006 as a project manager to work on the Allen production facility expansion and oversee the ground up development of the Estate Winery which was completed in Fall of 2010. In 2012 Chuck took a short (10 year) sabbatical working in the commercial construction space building wineries and large developments throughout Northern California and the Central Coast. In the fall of 2022, Chuck was excited to return to Williams Selyem in his expanded role as Director of Operations and Facilities supporting all areas of the business.

When you don’t see Chuck working around the winery, you’ll find him fishing in Northern California rivers for elusive steelhead, skiing in Tahoe, traveling with his wife and two kids and enjoying life in beautiful Sonoma County.

There are so many WS wines that stand out to Chuck, but he recalls a memory of a 2004 Coastlands pinot which he shared with his wife on their 10th anniversary. He enjoys most wines from the Sonoma Coast, but this one stood out for its light floral aromas and flavor of wild berries.
