The aromas of apple cobbler, pears, minerals, lilac and toasted vanilla bean fill up your glass. The rich, fat mouth feel is complemented by the reflection of passion fruit, Sun Crest peaches and Gravenstein apples. The balanced acidity and rich mouth feel finishes long with a toasted bread/lemon drop component. 15.0% alcohol
Challenging weather during the 2003 growing season resulted in lighter than normal berry development. However lower yields, coupled with moderate temperatures, allowed for even ripening with good sugar, pH and acidity. Although Mother Nature provided us with a less than bountiful harvest, we are very pleased with the resulting wines. The grapes for this wine were harvested at an average of 25.4 Brix in late October.
